Homework Folders

Week 1 - February 2nd

Welcome back to a new school year Room 18!!!

Each week homework will be given out on (Hapara) and on paper form for those that don’t have a chrome book or a computer at home to do digital homework. In saying that if you arrive at school around 8.30 each morning, you may be able to use a class computer to complete your weekly homework.

It is a school wide expectation that at Years 5-6 you be reading 20 minutes per night and completing other parts of homework to consolidate (help) your learning.

I would like you to keep a reading journal. Underneath here I have attached a table where you can type/write in the date, book title and a brief summary of what you read.

Seeing as it is a short week this week, you just have a few tasks. One of these tasks is to make a PB4L poster to put up on our class wall. This poster should be titled ‘Doing good because good is good to do’! and you can draw pictures or use photos to show good examples of what this looks like. Make sure you use lots of colours and it is neat and tidy lettering. These posters need to be brought into class by Friday.

I tried to do my homework
but a show was on TV.
A song was on the radio.
A friend was texting me.

My email chimed, and so, of course,
I had to look at that.
It linked me to a video
of someone's silly cat.

I watched a dozen videos,
and then I played a game.
I almost didn't hear her
when my mother called my name.

I looked up at the clock
and it was time to go to bed.
I didn't get my homework done;
just other stuff instead.

I hope my teacher listens
to the cause of my inaction.
It's really not my fault the world

is just one big distraction.
